Body of water to Meridian Trek II Sleeping Bag Regular Wide Review
In choosing a new sleeping bag (or for that thing most other pieces of hiking equipment) there will ever be a contain between features, weight and toll. Generally the more than you lot pay, the more features you volition gain and the more meaty and lighter the sleeping bag. Your choice becomes how much do you want to pay. Recently I had the opportunity to test out the Sea to Meridian Trek II sleeping bag in the regular size-wide fit and here's what I learnt.
As a sleeping purse the Sea to Summit Trek 2 range sits at the lower cease of what you would consider the quality range with the normal RRP sitting at $459. Past no ways is this a cheap bag but its is at the cheaper terminate of the range. With that comes a handbag that is heavier and bulkier coming in at 1160 grams and with a compressed size of 7.iv litres which is on the larger size of loftier quality bags – equally someone who typically uses a 50 litre pack or less, this sleeping handbag is larger than I prefer.
This bag has the basics as far as features go; 650 loft down, typhoon tube along the main zip, a hood and a toe box with a zip. Everything you need to keep yous warm and cosy during the colder months. This bag is rated at -viii° Celcius if yous are a male which makes it a very versatile bag and will suit merely about all your needs. Notwithstanding, if yous are female then the purse is only rated to -1° Celcius so it is potentially limited depending on your requirements.
This bag besides lacks the draft tube located near the neck region that more expensive bags take within the Sea to Summit range.
Size-wise the regular broad bag I tried is suitable for individuals who are up to a maximum tiptop of around 183 cm. I'm approximately 185 cm tall and would take preferred the longer size that suits hikers of up to around 198 cm. Width-wise this wide version has a more than relaxed fit and is designed for a heavier set hiker or merely someone who wants a flake of extra room to move.
Colour-wise this bag series is a blueish colour which is reasonably neutral for most people. This bags comes in the Trek I, Expedition Two, and Trek III along with longer and wider versions. The warmer the handbag, the darker the colour.
Like many of the bags in the Sea to Summit range this sleeping handbag is designed to be zipped together with another Bounding main to Pinnacle bag creating a couples pocketbook merely equally I've mentioned in other Sea to Summit reviews, I haven't seen anyone do this in the past five years while out on the trail – or at to the lowest degree no 1 has told me. I other handy feature this bag has is the internal stash/security pocket which is handy for keeping batteries warm on those common cold nights or keeping valuables safe.
Overall this is a skilful quality sleeping purse at the cheaper end of the mid range. While lacking many of the features and existence heavier than the more expensive bags, if your budget is express and you withal desire a quality purse then this i is well worth because.
